Community Development Work

Advice and Information

  • One to one confidential advice and information, advocacy and support to visible minority ethnic communities experiencing direct or indirect discrimination, racism or harassment including advice on welfare benefits, health, education, basic immigration, housing and employment issues.
  • one to one advice and information for young people.

Partnership Work

  • CORE works with a range of agencies both local and citywide to take forward issues identified by the community that we work with. We are also represented on a number of forums that work towards assisting statutory and voluntary agencies in the development of effective strategies that address the needs of visible minority ethnic communities.

Research

  • CORE conducts research on a number of issues affecting minority ethnic communities. Most recent research conducted in February 2009: Talking about our health: A participatory research project into the health needs of the Black and Minority Ethnic community in Greater Pilton. In collaboration with PCHP.
